Prostrate Cancer Prevention

Prostate cancer prevention gives exciting possibilities for the next generations and proposes prostate cancer prevention schemes for men to use now. Whenever deciding on what prevention strategies to follow, keep in mind that certain risk factors for prostate cancer are wildcards. They are just beyond your control. These include:

Genetics. The chance of prostate cancer is higher if your father or brothers have had the prostate cancer.
Age. Prostate cancer is not usual in men yonger than age 50, but after that age incidence of the disease grows dramatically.
Race. African-American men are known to me at much higher risk of getting prostate cancer.

The entire range of things that cause prostate cancer is still mostly unknown. Even men with none of the three abovementioned risk factors for prostate cancer may choose to adopt a lifestyle connected with a lower risk of the disease. The beneficial habits that defend against prostate cancer may help avoid other diseases too, such as heart disease, colon cancer, and others. A lot of the study on prostate cancer prevention centers on good nutrition. Significant factors include:

Fat. Prostate cancer risks vary greatly from one nation to another, with the highest risks appearing in countries where men tend to eat more fat.
Vegetables. Some researches link a diet high in vegetables to a lower rates of prostate cancer.
Fish. Prostate cancer can be three times more common in men who don't eat fish as in men who eat at least moderate amounts of fish.

Studies do not yet support any clear nutritional guidelines for preventing prostate cancer. Reasonable ideas are to eat more fruits, vegetables and natural whole grains, limit intake of saturated fat and cholesterol, reduce sugars and salt. Drink alcoholic beverages in moderation, or better cut them out completely. Watch your excess weight and control calories intake.

Obesity and prostate cancer: Reports have not demonstrated a direct connection between obesity and risks of prostate cancer. Still obesity may affect levels of hormones related to risks of prostrate cancer. Schemes for preventing obesity include: following healthy diet guidelines, meeting with your doctor to create a plan for physical activity, and doing some aerobic exercise for 20 minutes or more daily. Weight management plan will have health benefits for the whole body and your mind. Take care of your body and you will not experience prostate cancer or enlarged prostate.
